The Mind Charity is a mental health charity in England and Wales that offers information and advice to people with mental health problems.
For each of our Mind partnership meals bought, we donate 5p to Mind.
The MIND Diet is a brain focused diet developed to improve cognitive function and prevent dementia and supported by lots of research. We have used ingredients in our meals that underpin the MIND diet.
MIND stands for the Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay and is combination of two well researched 'healthy' diets, the Mediterranean diet and the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet.
The 10 foods encouraged by the MIND diet are: green leafy vegetables, other vegetables, berries, nuts, olive oil, whole grains, fish, beans, chicken and wine.
The MIND diet recommends certain foods shown to support a healthy brain. These are green vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, beans, berries, whole grains, fish, poultry, olive oil and red wine.
Several studies have found that following the MIND diet is linked with a lower risk of cognitive decline[1], [2] and of developing Alzheimer’s Disease[3].
The Mediterranean diet (on which MIND is based) has also been shown to have a positive impact on anxiety and depression through the SMILES trial[4].
